poem about looking at the past while not seeing the future
As I look back upon my life, The memories flood my mind. I see the joys, the tears, the strife, And all the ties that bind.
But as I gaze into the past, I cannot see beyond. The future's veil is thick and vast, Its secrets still unknown.
I wonder what lies ahead, What joys and sorrows too. But my sight is limited, To what I already knew.
So I cherish what I have, And hold on to what I've learned. For though the future may seem unclear, The past has much to be earned.
And as I move along life's road, I'll take with me the past. For though I can't see what's ahead, Its lessons will surely last.
