Nothing New Under the Sun
Nothing New Under the Sun
The sun rises, the sun sets, A cycle that we can't forget, And though it seems the world's undone, There's nothing new under the sun.
Empires rise and empires fall, But still the world goes on for all, We hear the same old stories spun, For there's nothing new under the sun.
Love and hate, joy and pain, The same old feelings again and again, And though it seems we've just begun, There's nothing new under the sun.
The seasons change, the years roll by, And still we live and love and die, We see the same old battles won, For there's nothing new under the sun.
So let us learn from days of old, From the stories that have been told, For though the tales may sound forlorn, We can still find hope in what we've borne.
For though there's nothing new under the sun, We can still find ways to live as one, To love and laugh and journey on, As we await the rising dawn.
